The details
What we've seen: used DSX-5000 kits listed from about $3,000 (bare used unit, Laiztech) up to $8,497 (refurbished, excellent condition, Equipverse), and £5,587 on eBay UK. A new DSX2-5000 lists around $13,400–$14,700, so used saves roughly 35–80%.
Before you buy, check:
- Calibration: ask for the cert date. A third-party DSX calibration was listed at $660 (DSX-5000) and $385 (DSX-602).
- Versiv 1 vs Versiv 2: Versiv 2 adds integrated Wi-Fi. Listings mix the two names.
- Adapters: permanent link (PLA) and channel (CHA) adapters cost real money. Confirm two of each are included.
- Remote: make sure the kit includes the remote unit, not just the main unit.
- DTX-1800: cheaper ($3,360–$3,495 used) but discontinued. Check whether your warranty program still accepts its reports.
